Mr. Moore, wearer of many horticultural hats, will represent the Herb Society of America at our meeting, speaking about the use and symbolism of herbs. Note: Follow-up trek (September 18) to Elm Bank, in Wellesley, MA, where Mr. Moore is training docents for the new herb garden.

Professional Iris growers from Carlisle, MA, Ms. Sachs and Mr. Schafer will give a presentation extolling the beauty and business of the many iris types successfully grown in New England.

Mr. Mezitt, a long-time leading force at Weston Nurseries, will guide us in choosing plants to bring life to our homescapes throughout the year.

A popular speaker last season, Mr. Schmidt will return to us with his choice of new ideas and items. Goodies to raffle - can't wait!

Arborist and "tree value adjuster," Mr. Palmer comes back to enlighten us on more than just pruning.

Outstanding floral designer and teacher of Japanese Ikebana, Mrs. Vosburgh will create several designs while we watch and learn. One arrangement, and all the flowers used, will be raffled to some karmic valentines.

How do little gardeners like us sift through the confusing information regarding what to plant or not plant, what to kill by which means, and how to cope with global economic and climate forces of cosmic consequence!?! Rolf Schilling, of the New England Wildflower Society at Garden in the Woods, will lead a broad discussion on these issues. Note: this will be a shared program with the Sutton Garden Club.

The annual meeting will be a Pot Luck Supper shared among garden friends, and will include a Silent Auction to benefit the BVG Speakers' Fund.

Ms. Paine is a member of the Rhododendron Society and a propagator of "Rhodies" at her garden in Sutton, MA. Please note that this meeting is on a Saturday and will be held at her garden (not the Senior Center) so that we may witness these plants at their peak
