Butterfly
Garden - JFK School
The
new
butterfly garden, once a vacant courtyard, is the brainchild of Mrs.
Cynthia Kosciak. The garden project was funded by a School Committee
Challenge Grant. All the plants in the garden were chosen to be larval
sources for caterpillars or nectar sources for adult butterflies.
The garden was designed by Barbara Hall of Tapestry Gardens in Uxbridge
and was constructed by Mrs. Kosciak and her helpers, Mr. Richard Spratt,
Mrs. Susan Decker and Mrs. Joyce Parmentier. The plants within will
get much bigger in the following years and we hope it will attract
many butterflies and other insects. The garden was planted in Spring,
2000.
